Just kidding. Way more differences (including the whole investing in tech thing) than similarities. But Milner is one of the most fascinating folks in tech, and here is a recent profile. And there is a thin thread of similarity to Buffett in the investing philosophy. Milner, like Buffett, is a “thesis investor” who is buying on strength of opportunity and business model, rather than making a short-term valuation play. He is not looking to micromanage the management at the companies he is putting money into. And, finally, his value is now such that it goes beyond his money; there is also a certain mark of credibility that comes from DST money.
