To follow-up on my last post, one of the most useful pieces of information, as an investor, businessman, or curious citizen, would be understanding when movements, trends, or opportunities were about to erupt. Given the extent to which people are using social media now to organize and report on trends, is there a way to data mine, such that we might predict or be forewarned that events were about to break because the spark is particularly strong, or alternatively that may tell potential sparks that the brush is such that now is the time to light the brush and make things happen?
Is that information there already in social media and how would we sort through it in real time to gain these insights? What an opportunity!
