Google: In the MVPD Ring

YouTube is jumping further in the ring with NetflixDish/Blockbuster, Amazon, and Hulu, according to the WSJ.  It is planning to organize content around “channels” with more professional content and it has been bidding for available content such as the Miramax film library.  I don’t know about the scale of available profits, but the area of content delivery is about as exciting as it gets for fans of truly disruptive competition.  It’s time for the MVPD companies and those that depend on the non-stop increasing subscription rates to take this seriously (as Charlie is doing) before it is too late to pivot.
